Bob Geldof’s Band Aid Trust donates archive to the National Library of Ireland

The National Library of Ireland (NLI) is to bring the Band Aid archive to a worldwide audience with plans to digitise a vast collection of letters, photographs and charity records from the iconic 1984 fundraiser. Band Aid founder, Bob Geldof, and Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan TD were at the Library today (20.12.17) to officially announce the donation of the archive by the Band Aid Trust. A commitment of €245,000 in digitisation funds from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to facilitate the development of the archive by the National Library was also announced.


Ireland Park is 10 Years Old

Tomorrow is the 10th Anniversary of the opening of Ireland Park. When Eithne Heffernan was recording her Album "Songs of Love and Emigration", Con O'Connell collaborated in a tribute to the Park with the creation of the song, "Ireland Park - Hallowed Ground".

Eamonn O'Loghlin memorial a huge success!

Congrats to Paddy and Rita Dunne and their committee on hosting a very successful Eamonn O'Loghlin memorial golf tournament at Caledon Woods Golf club. It was a sell out as expected and the weather cooperated just enough. Smitty was there snapping the wonderful photos and captured this one of the lads winning the Ceol Agus Craic trophy. Always nice to win your own cup...
