“Keeping It Lit: A Discussion on Brigid’s Roots and Feminist Legacy”.

February 4, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

As many of you are aware, the 1st of February is St. Brigid’s Day, which marks the beginning of spring in Ireland. The day has long symbolised hope, renewal, fertility and the feminine, originating in the pre-Christian festival of Imbolc.

To mark St. Brigid’s Day 2021, the Embassy is hosting a live virtual event on our YouTube channel at 7pm EST on Thursday 04 February.

Join Ambassador Dr. Eamonn McKee and special guest Dr. Julie Le Blanc (who many of you will remember from our Halloween events) for a fireside chat entitled “Keeping It Lit: A Discussion on Brigid’s Roots and Feminist Legacy”.

This conversation, which will explore Brigid the goddess and Brigid the saint promises to be super interesting, and all you have to do to watch is go to our YouTube channel at the appointed hour:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJqeUqcNnnOPg7HB1gv_98w?view_as=subscriber

You can find Dr. Le Blanc’s bio below.

Keep an eye on your inboxes on Monday for more Brigid’s material, and don’t forget to check out the Vancouver St. Brigid’s Day Festival, which kicks off this Sunday! Details here:https://www.brigidfestivalvancouver.com/
